Cliqstr — Terms of Service (Beta)
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Cliqstr’s websites, apps, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). “Cliqstr,” “we,” “our,” and “us” refer to Cliqstr. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use Cliqstr.
1. What Cliqstr Is (and Is Not)
Cliqstr is a private, ad-free social platform designed for families, trusted groups, and communities. Cliqstr is not a public social network and is not designed for anonymous use.
Cliqstr is currently in beta. During beta:
- Features may change
- Bugs may exist
- The Service may experience downtime or unexpected behavior
You use the Service at your own discretion during beta.
During beta, we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features and we do not promise that any specific content, cliq, or data will be retained or available at all times.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
Adults
You must be 18 years or older to create an adult account.
Children and Teens
Users under 18 may only use Cliqstr with verified parental or guardian approval and ongoing oversight. A parent/guardian account must be linked to the child account.
Parents/guardians are responsible for a linked minor’s use of the Service, including supervising activity, managing permissions, and addressing safety-related issues.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Do not share your account or attempt to access another user’s account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Accurate Information
You agree to provide accurate and current information (including age-related information). We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.
3. Payment Method Requirement and Billing
Cliqstr requires a valid payment method on file for all accounts, including $0 plans, trials, and guest access, to support safety and accountability.
Payments are processed by third-party payment processors (such as Stripe). Cliqstr does not store full payment card numbers.
If your payment method fails or charges are reversed, your access may be limited or suspended.
For supervised minor accounts, billing and compliance are anchored to the linked parent/guardian account. If a parent/guardian payment method fails, access for linked minor accounts may be limited or suspended.
4. Community Rules and Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Post or share illegal content
- Harass, bully, threaten, or exploit others
- Post sexual content involving minors (this results in immediate action)
- Attempt to bypass safety, moderation, or age/permission controls
- Use the Service for spam, scams, or unauthorized commercial activity
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or attempt to access accounts or data without authorization
We may remove content or restrict access if we believe it violates these Terms or creates risk to users or Cliqstr.
5. Safety, Moderation, and Reporting
Safety and Moderation
Cliqstr provides safety-focused platform features, including automated content screening, user reporting, and moderation workflows. These features are designed to assist with early detection and response, but they are not a promise of safety or prevention of harm.
Cliqstr is not a crisis intervention service, mental health provider, or emergency response organization. Cliqstr does not contact 911 or local emergency services on your behalf.
If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, call 911 (or local emergency services).
Automated Systems and Human Review
Cliqstr uses automated systems to help identify potentially concerning content. Automated systems can produce false positives and false negatives, and no automated system can detect all harmful content.
Safety and moderation features rely in part on third-party systems and may be unavailable, delayed, or degraded. Cliqstr does not promise continuous availability of automated moderation features or detection of all harmful content.
Where applicable, content and reports may enter additional review workflows. Moderation outcomes can include content actions, account actions, and policy enforcement measures based on available context and platform rules.
Cliqstr is rolling out safety controls in phases. Additional child safety controls, including CSAM safeguards, are planned as part of our phased safety roadmap until officially released.
Notifications and Delivery Limits
In eligible child safety scenarios, Cliqstr may attempt to notify linked parents or guardians through available channels. Notification delivery is not promised and may fail or be delayed due to device settings, carrier behavior, third-party outages, user configuration, or other factors outside Cliqstr's control.
Users and guardians remain responsible for taking direct action in emergencies and for using professional support resources when needed.
No Warranty of Safety Outcomes
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cliqstr does not warrant or promise:
- detection of all harmful content,
- uninterrupted or error-free moderation or alerting,
- delivery timing or receipt of notifications,
- specific response times, or
- prevention of harm in any specific situation.
Cliqstr provides tools to improve safety posture; it does not replace emergency services, clinical care, or parent/guardian judgment.
Illegal Content
If we become aware of illegal content, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), we may remove or restrict content and accounts, preserve relevant data as required by law, and report to appropriate authorities as required or permitted by law.
6. Your Content and Permissions
You retain ownership of the content you post.
By posting content through the Service, you grant Cliqstr a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your content only as necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the Service and to enforce these Terms.
You are responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the rights to share it.
The Service (including its software, design, and all related intellectual property) is owned by Cliqstr and its licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.
7. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described there.
8. Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service if:
- You violate these Terms
- Your payment method fails or is reversed
- We believe your activity creates risk to users, the community, or Cliqstr
- We are required to do so by law
You may stop using the Service at any time.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.”
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cliqstr disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Cliqstr does not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cliqstr will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
In no event will Cliqstr’s total liability for all claims relating to the Service exceed the amount you paid Cliqstr (if any) in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
(Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.)
11. Changes to These Terms
Cliqstr may update these Terms from time to time, especially during beta. If we make material changes, we will provide notice within the Service or by email.
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
